Get inspired my Mad World

Are you ready for some 80's New Wave? I had the great pleasure of interviewing Lori Majewski about her new book with Jonathan Bernstein. This book is truly groundbreaking and has up close and personal interview with your favorite New Wave artists like Duran Duran, Adam Ant and Howard Jones.

So read the interview about Mad World: An Oral History of New Wave Artists and Songs That Defined the 1980s and then vote for who you'd like to see in a followup book, just for fun. I'll share this lens with Lori too.

We also asked readers to create a lens about their favorite New Wave band to win a copy of the book. The winner is Things Can Only Get Better with Howard Jones by serendipity831. Congratulations!

There's still time to share your own New Wave story. Pick out one of these albums to review.

I could get carried away with saying whose not in the book or in the possible next round of editions. hahahaha However, I'll just point out one who I thought of immediately. I see that Depeche Mode is not on the list and quite possibly not in the book. I'm not sure. However, they were definitely a big 80's band who then went on to successfully make it further into each decade. All I can say is that it must have been really hard for the authors to finalize who would make the book!!!! -must have been fun too :D

I had to vote Cheap Trick, but Cyndi Lauper is right up there, of course. Also have to give a nod to Men Without Hats, B-52s, Talking Heads, even Bryan Ferry... man, that was an era.

When I think "80's" the first person that comes to mind is Cyndi Lauper.

Ooooh, that's a tough choice! But for pure fun I'll have to go with the B-52's. It's impossible to see them perform (or even just listen to their music) without smiling and dancing! :)

Can't vote. There's just too many of my favorites on the list. :)
